Illinois District Manager for The Duckhorn Portfolio

Rafael Dezendegui is the Illinois District Manager for The
Duckhorn Portfolio, bringing more than two decades of passion
and experience to the world of fine wine. His journey began in the
late ’90s at a cigar bar in Gainesville, where a mind-blowing
Beaujolais first sparked his curiosity and set him on a lifelong path
in the industry.

Determined to build a career in wine, Rafael landed his first sales
role in South Florida, calling on the vibrant restaurant scene of
South Beach. He spent his first five years with Breakthru in Miami
before transitioning to the supplier side of the business, beginning
with Palm Bay Imports and later joining J Vineyards to oversee the
Central region. He went on to serve as the Illinois Fine Wine
Manager for Lux, a division of Gallo, where he continued refining
his leadership and category expertise.

Driven by curiosity and a commitment to education, Rafael earned
his CSW certification in 2017. Today, he brings that same
dedication to The Duckhorn Portfolio, which he joined only a few
months ago. He is thrilled to represent and share an exceptional
collection of world-class wines with partners across Illinois.
